EOTC & School Events Update: COVID-19

There is a lot of information coming in to schools about events being cancelled, we will endeavour to keep you all up to date with the list events listed here. School is currently business as usual and we want to ensure that this continues until we are advised otherwise by the Ministry of Education.

School trips - all locally based  trips that are currently in the college calendar will be looked at on an individual basis. We envisage that the majority of which will run unless we are directed to otherwise. These have all had clear risk assessment and management processes applied to them and they fall within accepted activities under current government directives around the containment of COVID-19

Sport - If you or your son feel uncomfortable participating in any sports or training outside of school hours due to the COVID-19 virus, please inform your coach, manager or Teacher in Charge as soon as possible.  Your son will not be replaced or excluded from his sport as a consequence.

20/3 Update - Cancellation of Sports Code

After much discussion the senior leadership team has decided to cancel all training and games for the following codes: Basketball, Rugby and Water Polo until further notice. This is in addition to information that has already been released to you about other codes. This has been a difficult decision to make as we recognise the importance of continuing 'business as usual' in addition to recognising that the boys do need physical activity as a release from other stresses that are upon them at the moment.

Boys are encouraged to continue with their own independent training outside of school.  This includes their own physical strength programmes (if they have them), conditioning training and developing their own individual skills where they can.  If you are unsure please contact the coach of your respective sport.

This will enable the boys and teams to be fit and ready whenever it is deemed safe to resume training and games.
