Senior Arts Awards

Open to the whole school community is the Senior Arts Awards evening of St John’s College. It is a 7:00pm for 7:30pm start in the school library on Wednesday evening, 14th September. Being a school night, we are looking to complete proceedings no later than 9:00pm. All SJC students and their families are welcome to observe, support and be part of this exciting event. We hope to build on the success of last year, the inaugural Senior Arts Awards.

It will be a modest event with no cost to those attending. There will be no keynote speaker and catering is a light supper only, co-ordinated by the PTFA.

The programme of events will include short music/drama performances between categories of awards presented. Drama students will guide us through the evening including as comperes. There will be a number of breaks for light supper and looking through the artwork on display including a silent art auction.

Grandparents and extended family are especially encouraged to come along to appreciate the flourishing Arts departments of the school; Music, Art and Drama. There is to be no reserved or allocated seating.

Similar to the annual senior sports evening, the Arts awards presented on this night are not curriculum or classroom based; rather boys will be recognised for contributions to the school through the Arts and to various groups within the Arts faculty.

Award nominees will be dressed in No.1s therefore others are requested to wear similarly smart/formal attire to compliment the relaxed but formal occasion of receiving official awards.
