The rowing experience is a rewarding one for all involved, including parents and supporters. While there are many early mornings, afternoon trainings and weekend regattas over the summer, the benefits from rowing are worth the struggle and our rowing boys truly learn to become disciplined and mature young men through their journey.

Recent Success

The 2017-18 season saw a total squad of 18 rowers and 4 coxswains and the Learn to Row Programme (open to any student interested in taking up the sport and held in the off season), attracted a number of newcomers to this demanding yet satisfying sport. This allowed us to have 8 novice rowers and 9 returning rowers to prepare for the Maadi Cup Regatta in Twizel.

Our young men performed very well at Maadi this year, finishing in 3 A Finals, 4 B Finals, 2 C Finals and 1 E Final.

In the single scull, Finn Hamill (Year 11) impressed all with his silver medal in the U16 category.

We train at St John's College and the Waikato Rowing Club, Grantham Street.
