Cultural

Whanau Hui - we have a very active Whanau who hold monthly hui to keep all the whanau informed on what is happening within the college.
Whanau form class - this form class is open to any students who are interested in Tikanga and Te Reo Maori although numbers are limited. Students who are taking Te Reo Maori as a subject have the first option, as do students who have come from Kura Kaupapa and Bi-lingual units. This form class allows the form teacher and Maori Dean to monitor closely the academic achievement of these students. The class has also participated in whakawhanaungatanga weekends to focus on the College Pillar of "Family Spirit".
Kapahaka - Kapahaka is available to all students. Our aim is to up-skill the students to the point where they can compete in the regional secondary school competitions as well as gain confidence in their abilities. Kapahaka also allows our Maori leaders within the school to take leadership roles. Our Kapahaka group is also active in school Powhiri and the bi-annual College Cultural Show.
Cultural Activities - students are encouraged to participate in the annual Manu Korero Maori speech competitions as well as the Chanel Shield Maori Perspective Speech. Some other events attended by the college are the Koroneihana, Poukai, Kapahaka, and Maori Careers Days.
