Scholarships

We invite talented and/or deserving students to apply for a scholarship.

Each year the College offers a number of Scholarships to students entering the College and also to students already in the College. The Grace Family also offers scholarships for new students entering the College and the St John's College Foundation also provide scholarship support. These scholarships are to encourage talented and/or deserving students to enrol at the College as well as rewarding students who have made active contributions to the College family for some time. Some scholarships are reserved to support families in financial hardship.

Scholarships are offered for the duration of one year only. Scholarships are offered in areas including:

Special Character

College scholarships of $500 each.

Grace Family scholarships of $500 each, to Year 8 students entering the College.

To be decided on by the contribution students make to the Special Character of the contributing school or in the College.

Academic

College Scholarships of $800 each.

Grace Family Scholarships of $500 each, to Year 8 students entering the College.

To be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic performance at the contributing school or in the College.

Music

A College Scholarship of $1500 is available to music students entering or already at the College.

This could be distributed as three scholarships of $500 each, but the final distribution is decided by the Principal.

Cultural

College scholarships of $500 each to students who show a strong commitment to cultural pursuits.

Sport

College scholarships of $500 each to students who have a particular talent in sport.

Fees

College scholarships of $500 each to assist students entering or already in the College.

A Whelan - McCarthy scholarship of $500 to assist a Year 8 student entering the College. This is split equally towards uniform costs and school charges. 

To be awarded on the basis of financial hardship and need. 

Applications

Applicants must be eligible to be enrolled as a Preference Student. Applications should be sent to the Principal's Secretary before 30 November each year.
